| Come fare un gadget desktop |

Microsoft ha introdotto la sua versione di un widget , un piccolo programma in esecuzione sul desktop , nel sistema operativo Vista come parte della funzione " Sidebar " . L'attuale sistema operativo Windows , Windows 7 , non include una barra laterale . Microsoft ora si riferisce a questi piccoli programmi come " Desktop Gadgets ". L'utente può trascinare gadget ovunque sul desktop . Sviluppare i propri gadget comporta la creazione di un minimo di due file di breve durata , un file XML e un file HTML.
