Uno dei più importanti aggiornamenti di Windows Vista da versioni precedenti è l' optional di Windows Sidebar . Questo programma visualizza i widget che Microsoft chiama "gadget" sul lato destro del desktop , e può facilmente essere eseguito in background . Chiunque può sviluppare un gadget per il programma e la sua attuazione è sorprendentemente semplice : è possibile ottenere un gadget originale in esecuzione sul vostro sidebar in 15 minuti. Scrivi il codice per il tuo gadget in un editor di testo e salvarlo in . il formato di file desiderato . La nostra base to-do list è chiamato " MyToDo.html " e si presenta così:
